Unfortunately, this is as far as mine goes.
Finally over
November 25, 2007After months of serious work, the 10th Philippine Web Awards is finally over. I can't believe it's finally over and that I can finally concentrate on my job. Kudos to all my officemates for a job well done, especially those who had to put up with my stupidities particularly Ms Ams, Julls and Verns, and a special thanks to those who became my punching bags during sketchy moments Augy, Billy, Cielo, Doris, Erick, Leah and Shai. The stress-ridden months would've been a heck less bearable without you all.
I think I'm in love. So fucken lovely! Here's a pic of me with Jelli Mateo who hosted the event with Donita. I rarely have pictures taken with celebrities, but I'm making an exception here.
Me and my office buddies Augy, Shai and Cielo at the backstage
The MediaG8way Crew with Join the Club. Julls, Pao, Congie, Shai, Leah, Me, Cielo, Verns, Biboy and Migs. Me and some of my officemates trooped over to the backstage to have pictures taken with the band (JTC of course, I'm not interested with the Brass Munkeys). I told Biboy that I'm part of the their mailing list and he noticed my Admit One shirt. I also mentioned to the entire band that I was at the album launch and even wrote an article about it along with a review of their album for a small magazine years ago. Biboy says he remembered reading about it and gave me a hug which ended up with him giving me a smack down my jawline which made me exclaim "WHAT THE FUCK???" a little too loud. At this point I was wearing the dammit-dude-that-was-totally-unnecessary-and-uncalled-for look so Shai and Leah had to assure me that "Na-taken away lang yon."
I forgot about the entire thing after a few bottles of beer at the after party.
Busy ass
I've been so freaking busy these past few days that I've been neglecting some of the things I enjoy doing. I rarely get to watch TV and the last movie I saw was Stardust though I've promised myself that I'd watch Beowulf (yep, still haven't seen it) without resorting to Tower-Recto. I haven't been able to post anything new here and my past week has been a monotonous blur that involved listening to the DV podcasts and MP3s on the way to work and then dozing off in the FX because I didn't get much sleep the night before, spending nine or more hours at the office and then traveling back home with my earbuds plugged in as I slowly fall asleep on the FX. For months I've been doing double duty with my regular magazine duties and the 10th Philippine Web Awards.
Oh and I also did some radio interviews as I plugged our huge event on the two radio stations I used to listen to when I still had the luxury of owning a radio-enabled gadget. They were nerve-wracking 5-10-minute Q&A sessions with the DJs and I was almost cracking up between questions because I was thinking "OH shit…radio idol once again" but then I just went with the flow.
Also, I've started reading the Heroes graphic novels and is seriously thinking about creating a new character and mapping out an entire story around him. By the way, I created a gun-toting teenager a few years ago which I named Ian Montez (originally Montemayor) for a storyline that I had abandoned entirely and of course, being the meticulous, detail-oriented person that I am, I had very specific descriptions as to how he looks like; the height, build, hair, complete facial features and the way he talks. Last Thursday, while I was on a line waiting to board an FX to get home, some guy queued up behind me and I swear he fucken looks exactly like my character the way I imagined him, except perhaps the lack of both the tattoo and the eye brow piercing. It was so surreal. Now I think I should bring that character back…
